A Place Called Rahugh – Vincent Abbott.
Out of stock
The author, Vincent Abbott, was born and reared in Rahugh, Kilbeggan and has lived there all his life. From a farming background, he has always been keenly interested in local history and traditions, and picked up much of this over the years from older Rahugh residents, many of them now dead. Abbott’s primary motive in assembling the material which has gone into this little volume about Rahugh, was by way of attempting to put on permanent record those memories of times past in Rahugh and of an older lifestyle. This booklet gives the reader an account of the historical and social factors that gives Rahugh its rightful place in the Annals of our country. The writer endeavours to draw the attention of the younger folk to a way of life they sometimes can hardly imagine ever existed. This rare and second hand publication is in very good condition and is also out of print.
