Commissioners
Venue: OHAS Bury Quay, Tullamore 29th April at 8.15p.m. Speaker
Dr. Arnold Horner.
The distinguished geographer, Dr. Arnold Horner of the Department of Geography UCD, will give the April lecture on the subject of the work of the Bogs Commissioners who prepared the bog reports and bog maps of the early 1800s. These maps are a significant local history source but not that well known because they are difficult to access. Extracts have been published from time to time. The lecture is free and open to the public and we look forward to seeing you. Refreshments served afterwards.
